CCT Cyclic Corrosion Test Chamber

Zhongzhi Testing Instruments' Cyclic Corrosion Test Chamber (CCT) is mainly used in the automotive industry. It introduces parameters such as high temperature, humidity, low temperature, and dryness on the basis of the constant salt spray test, and takes into account as many conditions and factors in the natural environment as possible, with the aim of obtaining test results that are more relevant to the natural environment!

    Application

The combined salt spray test, also known as the cyclic corrosion test (CCT), is primarily used in the automotive industry. Based on the constant salt spray test, it incorporates parameters such as high temperature, humidity, low temperature, and dryness, taking into account as many factors as possible in the natural environment to achieve test results that are more closely related to the natural environment. The combined salt spray test is designed to determine the ability of the test object to withstand a salt spray environment. It utilizes a cycle of salt spray and moisture to simulate actual operating conditions. It is suitable for evaluating the electrochemical corrosion effects of metal materials and salt particles.

    Test Description

Combined salt spray testing typically consists of three phases: a salt spray phase, a humid phase, and a dry phase.

    ● Salt spray phase: Generally, in addition to sodium chloride (NCI), electrolytes containing other chemicals may be used to simulate acid rain or other industrial corrosion.

    ● Humid phase: The test procedure typically requires high humidity conditions, with a relative humidity requirement of 95%.

    ● Dry phase: The sample drying phase typically maintains a relative humidity of ≤30%.

    Results Evaluation

Product functionality must be normal. Failure of any function or performance exceeding the design margin is considered unacceptable.

Corrosion resulting in a 25% or greater reduction in any structural physical property (including but not limited to key product parameters such as yield strength, hardness, penetration strength, mass, and bending resistance) is considered unacceptable.

Exposed surfaces should be corrosion-free. Neither the coating nor the substrate should be corroded. There should be no bubbles, cracks, or other defects that affect the product's appearance.

Non-exposed surfaces and the substrate should be corrosion-free. Corrosion depth of the coating should not exceed 5% of the surface, and the corrosion area should not exceed 10%.
